Antoni Gaudí (1852-1926) – madman or genius?

"I have given this academic title either to a madman or to a genius. Time will tell." – said Elies Rogent, director of the Barcelona School of Architecture, when he handed Gaudí his architect's diploma in 1878.

I recently visited Barcelona and was speechless when I visited the architectural art of this city, created by the genius architect Antoni GAUDÍ: Sagrada Família, Park Güell, Casa Batlló, Casa Milà. There are a few more that I didn't manage to see (I will definitely come back another time). 7 of Gaudí's works have been granted world heritage status by UNESCO. Of course, the professional defect made me raise the map of this genius with the question: how? From what resources/talents/inspirations/muse?

We discovered a Sun in Cancer conjunct the North Node in the 11th house, opposite the focus – the South Node in Capricorn in the 5th house – from the kite configuration formed by the pyramid on earth signs – South Node, Mars, Uranus/Saturn/Pluto – and the minor triangle – Mars, Uranus/Saturn/Pluto, Sun/North Node (see the map below). The kite is synonymous with success, if it is used well. This configuration tends to conserve too much in itself the possibilities of expression, the creative capacities, without making them pass into a concrete plane. Thus, it is possible that this potential is not fully expressed. But, in Gaudí's case, the opposition between the Sun/North Node and the South Node is stimulated by the square of the Moon, the ruler of the Sun and the North Node. So the creative potential required expression in a concrete plane.

Why through architecture? Because the focus emphasizes the sector in which talent develops and here is the South Node in Capricorn. Or... who is best at construction, better than the sign of Capricorn? And not just any kind of construction, but durable ones, with spiritual value, such as Saturn in Taurus in the 9th house, the governor of the South Node. Gaudí's architectural style is inspired by the asymmetry of nature (here I notice the nuance of Uranus next to Saturn in Taurus) and the power of nature (Pluto in Taurus). And Venus, the ruler of Taurus and the governor of the Sun, is in the 12th house, the house of spirituality.

Gaudí was called the "God of the Universe" . He was a convinced believer. If nature is created by God, it means that it is perfect and functional only in the style created by God. Therefore, Gaudí's masterpiece is the Sagrada Família Church (still unfinished, 2024), where he wanted all believers from all over the world to gather.

I won't go into historical details, because you can quickly find them on the internet.

I emphasize the following
ideas that emerge from the astrological chart:

  • Creativity (5th house) based on nature (Saturn in Taurus)
  • Construction (Capricorn in the 5th house) of religious worship (Saturn in the 9th house)
  • He built (South Node in Capricorn) a place for people (North Node in 11th house), who would nourish themselves (ruler of 11th House, Moon in 2nd House) spiritually (ruler of Moon, Venus in 12th House)
