Pluto
Pluto is no longer considered a planet in the solar system according to the 2006 definition of the International Astronomical Union (IAU). Currently, Pluto is classified as a dwarf planet, along with other similar bodies in the Kuiper Belt. Despite this astronomical classification/reclassification, in astrology Pluto has brilliantly demonstrated its power of action through its transits throughout history, both collectively and individually. It is a planet that cannot be neglected, but plays a very important role from the evolutionary point of view of humanity.
Pluto is the planet furthest from Earth and is located at the outer edge of the solar system. Its revolution (one complete rotation) around the Sun takes 248 years. Due to its irregular (oval) orbit, it can stay in a zodiac sign for between 12 and 30+ years. It is part of the group of transsaturnian (generational) planets. It marks entire generations of humanity by its placement in a zodiac sign.
Pluto was discovered on February 18, 1930, a historical period marked by the world wars of the last century. Thus, Pluto obtained its symbolic title of planet of war associated with the power of transformation, domination, manipulation , attributes characteristic of Scorpio , where it was given its domicile in astrology. At the same time, it is considered the upper octave of Mars (the latter being the traditional ruler of Scorpio). Coincidentally or not, on the day of Pluto's discovery, it was in Cancer , and the Moon was conjunct the South Node in Scorpio .
*Interestingly, at the exact moment I am writing this article, the South Node is at the same degree as in the chart of its discovery, and Pluto is preparing to enter Aquarius .
In Roman mythology , Pluto is the name given to the Greek god of the underworld, Hades . He is the god of death, the afterlife, the guardian of hell and the underworld. He is the one who guides souls to the other world. Pluto opens the gates to that world.
In astrology , Pluto (being the farthest planet from the giver of life, the Sun) represents death . However, due to the Eastern culture in which the principle of reincarnation exists, death becomes a gateway to another life and Pluto obtains the status of a regenerator : regeneration associated with the idea of destruction for an eventual reconstruction on a new basis . The symbolism is associated with the “ Phoenix Bird reborn from its own ashes ”.
